SOLARIUM. A film by Moses Berkson starring Lykke Li

Swedish indie singer Lykke Li blends a wide range of instrumentals into her powerful, almost hypnotic music. The artist released a new short film this week, Solarium, which sees her making an artistic statement after “a major heart break and a post tour depression drove a very delusional LL out to the desert.”

Li headed out to the desert with, “Some friends and a super 8 camera,” as she describes via press release. “A major sun burn later, some shattered mirrors, I found myself, my ego, my thoughts, my expectations and my image to be a burden, hard to get rid of, if ever possible?”

The end result is a rather unusual sort of music video in black and white which takes us back to some earlier 70s experimental works. After her hit debut album in 2008, Li is reported to be back in the studio recording new material for a forthcoming album.
