Salem / we make it good mix

"Pink socks, a dirty mattress,
wallpaper peeling off the walls,
empty cough syrup bottles,
and soiled wall to wall carpeting
all come to mind after repeated
listens to this new Salem mix.
It’s either the perfect accompaniment
to the fall/winter blues
or soundtrack to scrawling your name
on your bedroom wall in blood,
it’s up to you."

BLACK METAL RULES
"In the early ‘90s, black metal grew out of death metal’s strain of punishing, terrifyingly dark music in a big way; namely by gaining notoriety from a string of suicides, murders and church burnings associated with the scene. Not the best way to break into the mainstream, but it seems that was the point. Unfortunately for black metal, people were quick to point fingers at the music and the genre was forever tarnished."

Heavy Metal in Baghdad
In the late summer of 2006, in the middle of the insurgency,
filmmakers Eddy Moretti and Suroosh Alvi traveled to Baghdad
to meet and interview the only heavy metal band in Iraq, Acrassicauda.
"Heavy Metal in Baghdad" is the story of the band and its members,
young Iraqis whose lives have been distorted and displaced by years
of continual warfare in their homeland.
The filmmakers have collected glimpses into the struggles of Acrassicauda
as they try to stay together and stay alive.
Their struggle is the untold story of the hopes and dreams
of an entire generation of young Iraqis.
